Optician Full Time (Optical Retail)

Salary: $18.00–$22.50 per hour, plus potential spiff program compensation

What you will do

• Dispense spectacles and other optical products for adults and children using prescriptions from optometrists and ophthalmologists.
• Verify prescription and order data, take measurements, read prescriptions with a lensometer, and manage order status through dispensing.
• Advise members on lenses and frames, explain procedures and product benefits, and deliver service in person and by phone.
• Schedule eye exams, enter patient histories, and conduct retinal imaging, auto-refraction, keratometry, tonometry, lensometry, and other ancillary tests.
• Support eyeglass adjustments and repairs, handle payments accurately, and assist with opening and closing procedures.
• Maintain privacy, HIPAA, safety, club, and customer-service standards.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Open shift availability and regular, predictable full attendance required for full-time work.
• Knowledge of optical products and business practices preferred.
• High school diploma, college degree, or wholesale retail and/or optical experience preferred.
• Ability to move frequently, use optical hand tools, and lift objects up to 20 pounds; heavier items may require assistance.
