ES Field Technician III (Hazardous Waste)

Location: Massena, NY, USA; onsite field work involving emergency response, spill cleanup, confined-space entry, and hazardous-material decontamination.

Salary: $23.55–$32.40 per hour, depending on hiring locality.

What you will do

• Perform tank cleaning, oil-spill cleanup, drum handling, decontamination, sweeping, shoveling, and high-pressure washing.
• Respond to customer spills and emergencies during and outside normal business hours.
• Operate light and heavy cleanup equipment, including vacuum trucks, roll-off trucks, box trucks, skid steers, forklifts, pumps, and pallet jacks.
• Perform equipment and site housekeeping, vehicle inspections, vehicle-log maintenance, and daily operational reporting.
• Present information and respond to management, internal-customer, and external-customer questions.
• Follow safety policies and regulations while advising less experienced team members and potentially serving as a team leader.

Requirements

• 4–7 years of relevant work experience.
• Ability to pass 40-hour HAZWOPER training upon hire.
• Ability to read and understand operational, technical, safety, quality, and process documents, including safety data sheets.
• Ability to use light and heavy equipment, hand tools, shop tools, and instruments; ability to move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work safely around chemicals, identify unsafe conditions, prioritize multiple responsibilities, and maintain attention to detail.
• Current confined-space entry or rescue certification is preferred; some states may require equipment-operation certificates.

Nice to have

• Lead and asbestos abatement license.
• Class A/B CDL with tanker endorsement and Class C CDL with hazmat endorsement.
