Back Plant Operator (Waste Management)

Location: Fort Myers, Florida, USA; onsite industrial plant role

Salary: $22.79–$30.34 per hour

What you will do

• Operate, maintain, and inspect plant equipment supporting ash handling and metal recovery.
• Perform daily walkdowns of conveyors, belts, rollers, separators, and related systems.
• Monitor equipment performance, alignment, speeds, ash buildup, and system cleanliness.
• Complete cleaning, grounds keeping, preventive maintenance, and corrective maintenance support.
• Assist with shutdown repairs and safely perform lock-out/tag-out procedures.
• Report equipment issues through work orders and maintain a clean, safe, compliant work environment.

Requirements

• Entry-level industrial operations experience or equivalent ability to perform the duties.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; a fully funded GED program is available.
• Ability to work a rotating shift schedule.
• Ability to walk, stand, sit, climb, work at heights and in confined spaces, and lift or carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to wear a full-face respirator and work in varying weather conditions.
