Substation Electrician 1C, 2C Apprentice Acceptable

Location: Rochester, New York, United States; onsite work at the Scottsville Road location with 24/7 emergency response availability.

Hourly rate: $23.04–$58.19

What you will do

• Safely operate, maintain, and construct electric substations and related systems.
• Diagnose substation and system problems and perform corrective work.
• Support the safety and reliability of the electric system.
• Respond to emergency calls outside regular working hours and in all types of weather.
• Collaborate with coworkers, customers, agencies, supervisors, and trade allies.

Requirements

• At least four years of experience in electric construction and maintenance involving substations and related systems, completion of formal substation training, or the ability to demonstrate the required skills in a test.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a CDL or other required certifications and licenses.
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job and pass applicable job tests.
• Ability to follow instructions, work in a team, and maintain a satisfactory work record.
• Must be able to work onsite in Rochester, New York and respond to applicable emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
