TL;DR
Technical Program Manager (Space Systems): Managing the development and delivery of spacecraft, payload, and technology-development programs with an accent on integrated schedules, budgets, procurement, staffing, and customer commitments. Focus on coordinating complex hardware programs through systems-engineering reviews, integration and testing, delivery, and operational transition.

Location: On-site in Carlsbad, California, United States

Salary: $150,000–$160,000 per year

What you will do

  • Manage spacecraft, payload, or technology-development programs from planning through development, integration, testing, delivery, and operational transition.
  • Build and maintain integrated schedules covering milestones, dependencies, critical paths, and decision points.
  • Manage budgets, forecasts, estimates to complete, and cost-versus-plan reporting.
  • Coordinate staffing, procurements, long-lead items, vendors, suppliers, and material issue resolution.
  • Lead program meetings and provide decision-oriented status reports to leadership, customers, and other stakeholders.
  • Support design reviews, customer deliverables, contract execution, proposals, risk management, and continuous improvement of program-management processes.

Requirements

  • At least five years of relevant experience in program management, project management, engineering management, operations, or a related field.
  • Experience managing schedules, budgets, resources, procurements, risks, and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to organize technically complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level status reporting and briefings.
  • Proficiency with project-management, scheduling, documentation, and productivity tools.
  • U.S. citizenship is required due to applicable U.S. federal government contract requirements.

Nice to have

  • Degree in engineering, science, business, program management, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with spacecraft, payloads, aerospace, defense, remote sensing, or complex hardware development programs.
  • Experience with systems engineering and formal design-review milestones.
  • Familiarity with hardware manufacturing, assembly, integration, environmental testing, and delivery.
  • PMP certification or similar program-management training.
