Program Director- Targets (Hypersonic)

Location: Mojave, California, United States; onsite at Mojave Air & Spaceport. Domestic and occasional international travel is required.

Salary: $214,000–$249,000 annual base salary, plus a 20% target bonus. Base salary and leveling are established case by case.

What you will do

• Lead strategic initiatives and oversee multiple concurrent, complex aerospace programs.
• Direct the design, development, manufacturing, and flight testing of expendable hypersonic targets.
• Own program cost, schedule, technical performance, customer satisfaction, forecasting, budgeting, invoicing, and financial reporting.
• Lead engineering, operations, procurement, finance, legal, and other cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment.
• Manage customer, government agency, partner, executive, and Board of Directors engagement, including complex contract negotiations.
• Oversee program risk, compliance, governance, classified execution, organizational development, and succession planning.

Requirements

• At least 20 years of progressive technical or program management experience, including 5 years in senior or principal-level leadership within aerospace, defense, or high technology.
• Experience managing large, multidisciplinary programs with annual budgets exceeding $100 million.
• Extensive experience in aerospace program management, subcontracting, procurement, personnel management, aircraft systems and operations, launch vehicle integration, and ground systems.
• Experience with advanced risk management, classified programs, subcontractors, prototypes, and low-rate production.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a TS (Top Secret) security clearance; U.S. citizenship may be required for positions involving government clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business management/administration, or a related discipline; advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, and project management tools.

Nice to have

• Boost-glide hypersonic vehicle technology or hypersonic vehicle development experience.
• Experience with government agencies, regulatory bodies, major defense contractors, air-launch, launch vehicles, aircraft integration, or military aircraft operations.
• PMP, PgMP, or equivalent advanced program management certification.
• Master’s degree or higher.
