Field Service Specialist (Medical Devices)

Location: Mississippi, United States (remote). The role manages an assigned service territory and requires 50–75% travel, including overnight stays, long-distance driving, and flights to clinical and stakeholder sites.

What you will do

• Install, calibrate, perform preventive maintenance on, and repair electro-mechanical medical equipment.
• Diagnose equipment failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions while meeting service-level, quality, and safety standards.
• Manage an assigned service territory by scheduling service calls, maintenance, travel, parts, and inventory.
• Maintain service documentation, maintenance records, inventory transactions, and calibrated test equipment.
• Train customer personnel on equipment operation, maintenance procedures, and inspection techniques.
• Communicate with customers, support field actions and installation projects, and mentor other service technicians.

Requirements

• Experience in biomedical engineering, medical-device installation, maintenance, and repair, including complex electro-mechanical troubleshooting.
• Associate’s degree or higher in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field; alternatives include relevant experience, BMET certification, or completion of a U.S. military electrical or biomedical equipment technology program.
• Ability to work independently, manage an assigned territory, communicate professionally, and resolve technical problems using sound judgment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, Project, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work in healthcare environments with PPE and meet physical requirements, including standing, kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel 50–75%, including overnight stays, long-distance driving, and flights, are required.

• Previous field service experience.
• Experience mentoring technicians and contributing troubleshooting guides, best practices, or service improvements.
