Field Service Engineer (Biotechnology)

Location: Remote from Los Angeles, California, United States, covering Southern California, Colorado, and Utah; 35% travel with overnight trips within the territory.

Salary: $68,000–$72,000 annual base salary, plus bonus or incentive pay.

What you will do

• Install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair designated customer equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance, electrical and mechanical testing, and service activities under maintenance contracts.
• Manage spare-parts ordering and inventory.
• Communicate with customers, follow up on service issues, and apply documented processes and root cause analysis.
• Support service business growth by quoting agreements, parts, upgrades, consumables, and equipment opportunities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in biomedical, mechanical, or electrical engineering, or in biology, chemistry, or another STEM field.
• Equivalent military training, or an associate degree with at least two years of work experience.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required.
• Ability to travel 35%, including overnight travel within the assigned territory.
• Ability to lift, move, or carry equipment weighing up to 50 lb.

Nice to have

• Experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, or electronic equipment.
