Salary: $155,000–$233,000 per year

What you will do

  • Lead the specialized engineering laboratory focused on rapid prototyping, advanced manufacturing, technology integration, and reverse engineering.
  • Serve as Chief Engineer and senior technical authority across concept development, requirements, architecture, design, integration, testing, evaluation, and production transition.
  • Direct laboratory operations, test planning, demonstrations, workforce planning, resource allocation, and infrastructure modernization.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams through systems engineering, RDT&E, product development, and technical services efforts.
  • Oversee requirements analysis, trade studies, design reviews, verification, validation, qualification testing, documentation, and contractual deliverables.
  • Advise customers and senior leaders, support capture and proposal activities, and develop strategic engineering partnerships.

Requirements

  • Active Secret clearance required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, aerospace, systems engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 12+ years of engineering leadership experience.
  • Experience supporting NAVAIR, NAWCAD, or other Department of Defense aviation programs.
  • Systems engineering experience from concept development through integration and testing.
  • Experience with hardware development, avionics, mission systems, test systems, aerospace platforms, digital engineering, MBSE, or modeling and simulation.

Nice to have

  • Business development and capture experience.
  • Professional Engineer license or a master’s degree.
  • Experience with AS9100 or ISO 9001 environments and IRAD efforts.
  • Experience with additive manufacturing, digital engineering, or advanced prototyping.
