TL;DR
Technical Program Manager (Aerospace): Managing development programs for pneumatic, mechanical, and electromechanical systems in military aerospace and vehicle applications with an accent on program planning, AS9100 compliance, and cross-functional engineering coordination. Focus on creating compliant program plans, tracking schedules and technical status, and developing technical and cost inputs for defense proposals.

Location: 100% onsite in Inglewood, California, United States

Salary: $140,000–$160,000 per year, based on experience, skills, and education.

Marvin Engineering is part of The Marvin Group, a defense contractor designing and manufacturing alternate mission equipment, test equipment, and power and thermal management systems for military aerospace and vehicle programs.

What you will do

  • Manage development programs involving pneumatic, mechanical, and electromechanical components and assemblies.
  • Coordinate communication between design engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, customer program management, and engineering specialists.
  • Create and maintain AS9100 program plans and supporting compliance evidence for the R&D group.
  • Generate and track program schedules, control documents, reports, and technical status updates.
  • Support technical and cost inputs for customer inquiries and requests for proposal.
  • Contribute as an individual contributor and member or leader of cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience managing development projects.
  • BSME, BSAE, or equivalent, plus at least 5 years of experience designing components or systems in a development environment.
  • Experience with mechanical components, complex electromechanical systems, or large structures, preferably in military or commercial aviation.
  • Experience using Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office, and interpreting MIL-STD documents.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical report writing.
  • Fluent written and spoken English and eligibility as a U.S. person under ITAR are required. Proof of education is also required, and the role involves lifting up to 35 pounds.

Nice to have

  • Experience with CAD or CATIA solid modeling.
  • Knowledge of airborne weapon systems or weapon carriage equipment.
  • Experience documenting program plans, AS9100 documents, technical reports, and test reports.
