Intermediate Commissioning Technician (High-Voltage Substations): Supporting the commissioning of high-voltage substation EPC and turnkey projects with an accent on primary and secondary equipment testing, energization readiness, and safety compliance. Focus on developing commissioning plans, integrating protection and control systems, troubleshooting technical issues, and coordinating project delivery with engineering, construction, OEM, and client teams.
Location: Remote only; United States of America, Florida, Orlando. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.

What you will do
- Develop and implement commissioning plans, schedules, and procedures for high-voltage substations.
- Test and commission transformers, GIS, circuit breakers, protection relays, SCADA systems, communication systems, and control panels.
- Perform functional testing, point-to-point checks, system integration, troubleshooting, and energization activities.
- Coordinate commissioning activities with project managers, OEMs, engineering, construction, and client teams.
- Maintain commissioning documentation, test reports, quality records, and as-built documentation.
- Follow Zero Harm, site safety, quality, IEC, IEEE, NERC, OSHA, and client-specific requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Power Systems, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 3–5 years of experience in electrical testing and commissioning, preferably in high-voltage substations, transmission, distribution, renewable energy, or industrial power projects.
- Ability to interpret single-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, protection drawings, and test procedures.
- Working knowledge of high-voltage equipment, protection systems, and substation controls.
- Strong understanding of OSHA regulations, environmental compliance, and safety management on high-voltage sites.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
