Field Service Engineer (Manufacturing)

Location: Hybrid, with remote work and on-site work at the Wixom, Michigan office; extensive travel to customer sites is required.

What you will do

• Install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair complex machinery at customer sites.
• Diagnose electrical and control-system issues using technical drawings and field inspection data.
• Evaluate equipment performance, identify problems, and recommend improvements to support quality and productivity.
• Communicate with customers, provide equipment and software guidance, and deliver training on hirify.global IAS systems.
• Document service and installation activities in reports, logs, and databases.
• Validate warranty claims and coordinate with internal teams to resolve field issues through completion.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience troubleshooting and resolving field equipment issues.
• At least 2 years of experience as a Field Service Technician or in a similar manufacturing role.
• Experience with electrical troubleshooting and control systems troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
• Basic experience with PLC programming and proficiency in PC and Microsoft Office tools.
• High school diploma or equivalent, plus the ability to communicate technical concepts effectively in writing.
