Environmental Water, Waste, SPCC Specialist

Location: Houston, Texas; hybrid schedule with 3 days in the office and 2 days at home/remote. The role is located downtown Houston or within a designated work area, with approximately 30% overnight business travel.

What you will do

• Support midstream and pipeline operations with non-hazardous, hazardous, TENORM, mixed, and universal waste management.
• Prepare, manage, and audit waste management plans, waste determinations, contingency plans, and disposal contractors.
• Manage SPCC Plans under 40 CFR Part 112, including inspections and annual training for field operations.
• Support spill and release response, agency notifications, cleanup activities, incident reporting, and emergency response.
• Complete stormwater and wastewater permit compliance activities, discharge monitoring reports, and pollution prevention plan training.
• Interpret EHS regulations and advise operations and management on compliance requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, geology, environmental sciences, or an equivalent science program.
• At least 3 years of industrial environmental compliance or related consulting experience; oil and gas experience is a plus.
• Experience with waste management, RCRA, water permitting, analytical data interpretation, SPCC, Tier II reporting, and environmental training.
• Must work within the Houston/designated work area and be available for approximately 30% overnight travel.
• Valid driver’s license, satisfactory driving record, ability to climb stairs, traverse rugged terrain, carry up to 50 pounds, and travel by air occasionally.
• Pre-employment drug screening and background check are required.
