Critical Operations Manager (Data Center)

Location: New Albany, Ohio, United States. Approximately 20% travel to STACK locations and events; work hours may include weekends, nights, holidays, and on-call support.

What you will do

• Lead all operational aspects and uptime of the local data center campus, including electrical, mechanical, fire life safety, base building, and monitoring systems.
• Implement site safety, availability, communication, knowledge, preventive maintenance, and training programs.
• Lead and develop a team of 4–12 direct reports, including an Assistant Critical Operations Manager and Critical Operations Technicians.
• Manage vendor relationships, service contracts, procurement, project execution, and site-level CAPEX and OPEX budgets.
• Create technical procedures for maintenance events, emergencies, and site changes while ensuring construction and commissioning do not affect critical operations.
• Lead incident reporting, root cause analysis, audits, customer communication, and initiatives to prevent unplanned outages.

Requirements

• Must be eligible to work in the United States and pass a comprehensive background screening.
• High school diploma or equivalent and 5–7 years of experience in data center or other mission-critical operations.
• 3–5 years of experience managing facility preventive maintenance programs, vendors, and projects.
• Expert knowledge of data center electrical and mechanical systems, including UPS, transformers, PDUs, RPPs, chillers, CRAH, CRAC, STS, ATS, and pre-action systems.
• Expert knowledge of NFPA 70E, NFPA 72, NFPA 25, fire life safety compliance, building codes, data center trending, analysis, and monitoring systems.
• Availability for variable working hours, emergency on-call support, and occasional physical activity including lifting up to 25 pounds.

Nice to have

• Experience with hyperscale, enterprise, colocation, and telecommunications environments.
• Proficiency in data center commissioning standards and Microsoft Office or database software.
