Director, Commissioning (Data Center)

Location: Dallas, TX; hybrid work with office and field-based responsibilities. Regular travel to project locations and interaction with active construction sites and operational facilities are required.

What you will do

• Lead the commissioning function across a multi-site data center development portfolio.
• Set commissioning strategy, staffing models, resource plans, execution standards, metrics, and governance processes.
• Oversee testing, integrated systems testing, substantial completion, turnover, closeout, and operational readiness.
• Act as the owner representative and coordinate hirify.global, contractors, vendors, consultants, project teams, and third-party commissioning providers.
• Review plans, test procedures, issue logs, results, reports, and turnover documentation while driving risk and issue resolution.
• Build and develop the commissioning organization through hiring, mentoring, workforce planning, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 8–10 years of commissioning experience involving technical MEP system design and operation, instrumentation and controls, contractor trades, and new building operations; 15+ years of relevant experience is preferred for the director-level scope.
• Prior supervisory experience and demonstrated leadership of commissioning programs, technical teams, or complex project delivery organizations.
• Strong knowledge of data center infrastructure, electrical and mechanical systems, controls, construction sequencing, testing methodologies, turnover, and operational readiness.
• Experience with large-scale capital projects, mission-critical facilities, construction drawings, AIA contracts, leases, work letters, financial models, and cost analysis.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, conflict resolution, escalation, delegation, executive presentation, and business skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, electrical or mechanical engineering, operations, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience. A master’s degree is preferred.

Nice to have

• CxA, QCxP, CCP, or equivalent commissioning certification.
• Experience with Bluebeam, Procore, CxAlloy, SharePoint, or similar platforms.
