Location: On-site at the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania data center campus; requires 24/7 escalation support and periodic off-hours response during construction, commissioning, handover, and early operational ramp-up.

What you will do
- Lead on-site operations for a new 41,367-square-foot, 4MW AI data center supporting high-density GPU and HPC workloads.
- Build, hire, train, and manage operations, electrical, and mechanical technician teams for safe 24/7 critical-facility operations.
- Support construction handover, commissioning, operational readiness, and transition to steady-state operations.
- Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance for electrical, mechanical, cooling, life-safety, and control systems.
- Manage vendors, contractors, utilities, site-level projects, budgets, schedules, quality, and service performance.
- Lead incident response, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, customer coordination, and emergency-response activities.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in data center operations, mission-critical facilities, critical infrastructure, or a comparable technical environment.
- Experience managing electrical, mechanical, operations, facilities, or critical-environment technician teams.
- Experience with construction handover, commissioning, operational readiness, facility startup, or major infrastructure retrofits.
- Strong knowledge of data center electrical, mechanical, cooling, and IT/networking environments, including maintenance and contractor management.
- Experience with incident management, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, customer and stakeholder communication, and site-level project management.
- Associate degree or equivalent technical education in engineering, electrical or mechanical systems, or IT infrastructure; a related bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred.
Nice to have
- Experience with AI, HPC, cloud, GPU, or other high-density computing environments.
- Experience with liquid cooling, including direct-to-chip cooling, coolant distribution units, or rear-door heat exchangers.
- Experience opening a greenfield data center or transitioning a newly constructed facility into 24/7 operations.
- Experience with switchgear, UPS systems, generators, chillers, BMS, EPMS, or DCIM platforms.
- Relevant data center operations, critical facilities, electrical safety, or mission-critical infrastructure certifications.
