Associate Specialist, Patient Access (Healthcare)

Location: Onsite at Ardent - Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello, Idaho; candidates must reside in and be authorized to work in the United States. Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM.

Salary: $17.00–$18.15 per hour, based on experience.

What you will do

• Perform admitting and pre-registration duties for hospital patients.
• Assign accurate medical record numbers, collect demographic and insurance information, and process physician orders.
• Verify insurance eligibility, select appropriate plan codes, enter benefit data, and support point-of-service collections and clean claims.
• Explain consent, Medicare, Tricare, observation, and other patient forms; obtain required signatures and distribute educational materials.
• Screen medical necessity using ABN software and document required notices for Medicare patients.
• Conduct account audits, maintain accurate records, operate the telephone switchboard, and provide compassionate customer service.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of customer service experience.
• Ability to work onsite in Pocatello, Idaho.
• Must reside in and be authorized to work within the United States.
• Demonstrated openness to innovation, including AI, and interest in improving patient and client experiences.
• CRCR certification required within 9 months of hire; certification is company-paid.
