Development Engineer (Turbomachinery)

Location: Hybrid work in Germany, with locations in Mülheim an der Ruhr, Nuremberg, and Görlitz.

What you will do

• Develop industrial steam turbine blading and contribute to the complete blading path.
• Design and optimize steam paths, including high-, medium-, and low-pressure blades.
• Perform numerical fluid mechanics work, including 3D flow calculations, blade and profile optimization, and efficiency optimization.
• Plan and evaluate model and field measurements and analyze feedback from the global steam turbine fleet.
• Create design rules and manage research and development projects with external research institutions and the international engineering network.
• Support purchasing, production, assembly, order processing, quotations, and sales.

Requirements

• University degree in turbomachinery, aerospace engineering, energy technology, or a related field.
• Relevant experience in turbomachinery and blade design.
• Strong knowledge of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and aerodynamics.
• Proficiency in numerical methods and CFD; experience with ANSYS CFX is preferred.
• Proficient German and English; scripting and programming skills are advantageous, and knowledge of mechanics is desirable.
