IT Operations Technician (VMware)

Location: Georgetown, Texas, United States; onsite work involving physical server installation and maintenance

What you will do

• Participate in server build projects and obtain required parts and components from the warehouse.
• Build, maintain, upgrade, rack, and stack physical servers, including installing server rails.
• Connect servers to networks using DAC, fiber, and Ethernet cables.
• Perform component failure analysis, repairs, and server burn-in testing.
• Install and patch hypervisor operating systems, resolve issues, and escalate when required.
• Create support tickets, maintain server build documentation and SOPs, and record system changes and fixes.

Requirements

• 2–4 or more years of related IT experience.
• Configuration experience with VMware Hypervisor.
• Experience troubleshooting defective hardware components.
• High school diploma or associate degree preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds.
• Visa sponsorship is not provided; certain positions may require US citizenship, permanent residency, refugee or asylee status, or eligibility for an export control license or exception.

Nice to have

• CompTIA A+ or Network+ certification.
• At least one year of PC hardware or networking experience.
