Maintenance Supervisor

Location: Onsite at the Rotterdam, New York facility; company address listed in Schenectady, NY, USA. Travel to other TOMRA sites, including BICS and Vestal, may be required.

Salary: $80,000–$85,000 annually

What you will do

• Lead, guide, and assign work to the local maintenance team while ensuring safe, timely, and efficient completion of tasks.
• Coordinate emergency repairs, corrective maintenance, and maintenance requests to minimize operational downtime.
• Perform and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance on conveyors, power transmission systems, hydraulic balers, air compressors, docks, doors, and dock levelers.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical components, facility systems, PLC-controlled equipment, sensors, VFDs, motors, gearboxes, chain drives, rollers, and conveyor belts.
• Manage spare-parts inventory, work orders, CMMS processes, and preventive maintenance programs to improve reliability and asset longevity.
• Implement hazard controls, support health and safety activities, and ensure compliance with maintenance and workplace safety standards.

Requirements

• At least 3–5 years of maintenance experience in an industrial, manufacturing, recycling, or material-handling environment, including at least 3 years leading or managing employees.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, conveyor, and automated processing systems.
• Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment, sensors, VFDs, motor controls, and automation systems.
• Ability to read schematics and drawings, use electrical test equipment, repair lighting circuits, and fabricate or install equipment guarding.
• Knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance planning, work-order management, CMMS systems, root-cause analysis, OSHA requirements, LOTO, and machine guarding.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting, pulling, and pushing and use portable and stationary hand and power tools.

Nice to have

• A.S. degree in Engineering Technology, equivalent education, or vocational training in a related field.
• Welding certification.
• Material-handling equipment operator certifications and experience repairing forklifts, loaders, or other powered industrial trucks.
