Senior Functional Analyst

Location: 100% remote within the United States; candidates from California, Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, and Washington will not be considered.

Salary: $78,167–$103,855 per year

What you will do

• Lead the capture, analysis, documentation, validation, and change control of business, functional, technical, and non-technical requirements.
• Collaborate with customers, business users, product owners, IT teams, systems engineers, leadership, and contractors.
• Manage epics, sub-epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, requirements, tests, defects, risks, and traceability in JIRA.
• Facilitate user interviews, requirements workshops, backlog refinement, Agile ceremonies, and process modeling sessions.
• Track project and product execution metrics, manage impediments, and deliver project documentation to the client.
• Serve as a product functional subject matter expert and mentor junior analysts.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required; must possess or qualify for a Public Trust (MBI) security clearance.
• Ten years of professional experience; a master’s degree in engineering or a related scientific or technical discipline is required.
• Strong background in software development and Agile or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodologies.
• Expertise with JIRA and advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Excel.
• Excellent analytical, communication, problem-solving, customer service, and research skills.
• Experience with large Agile software development or data integration projects.

Nice to have

• Experience in an Agile environment and knowledge of the Veterans Independence Program.
• VA SQA testing experience and experience working for a federal health agency.
• Certified Scrum Master or Professional Scrum Master certification.
• Knowledge of healthcare billing, claims processing applications, or Veterans Affairs programs.
