Server Engineer (Infrastructure)

Location: Calgary, AB, Canada; up to 10% travel may be required.

Salary: $66,800–$93,500 CAD per year

What you will do

• Support physical servers, virtualization, storage, backup, recovery, and cloud-hosted infrastructure platforms.
• Manage infrastructure lifecycle activities, including deployments, upgrades, patching, capacity planning, and decommissioning.
• Maintain Windows and Linux server environments and enterprise virtualization platforms such as VMware, Proxmox, Hyper-V, OpenStack, and KVM.
• Monitor infrastructure performance, availability, capacity, and reliability, escalating operational issues when needed.
• Support automation and Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell, and Python.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, security, and application teams on migrations, deployments, upgrades, documentation, and operational procedures; participate in a rotating on-call schedule.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2–4 years of experience in enterprise infrastructure, systems engineering, platform engineering, or systems administration.
• Strong experience administering enterprise Windows Server and Linux operating systems.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise virtualization, server hardware, data center infrastructure, storage, replication, and capacity management.
• Experience with backup, recovery, disaster recovery, business continuity, AWS, Microsoft Azure, automation, scripting, and Infrastructure-as-Code.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and deliver infrastructure projects in a collaborative environment.
