Claim Specialist - Property Field Inspection

Location: Sherman, Texas, United States. Remote-field position with work from home, a mobile office or vehicle, and in-person property appointments. Candidates should reside within the listed Sherman-area ZIP codes and may travel to other territories.

Salary: $63,089.65–$90,000 annually, plus potential yearly incentive pay of up to 15% of base salary.

What you will do

• Conduct on-site inspections and assess damage for residential, commercial, and large-loss property claims.
• Investigate and adjust personal and commercial claims with exposures up to $500,000.
• Explain coverage, interpret policy terms, evaluate claim validity, and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Gather evidence, document findings, and prepare detailed claim reports using mobile and desktop tools.
• Collaborate with policyholders, agents, and other parties while handling difficult or emotional conversations.
• Negotiate and settle claims within authorized limits.

Requirements

• Ability to investigate problems, evaluate information, interpret detailed policies, and make well-supported decisions.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and customer-service skills.
• Proficiency with mobile and desktop tools for field and remote claims documentation.
• Physical agility for frequent lifting, carrying, ladder climbing, roof navigation at various heights, and crawling in tight spaces.
• Valid driver's license required; residence within the listed Sherman-area ZIP codes expected.
• Successful completion of required training, licensing examinations, motor vehicle record checks, background checks, and any required pre-employment assessments.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent property claims experience.
• Knowledge of property insurance policies, claim handling, and residential and commercial construction.
• Water mitigation inspection experience.
• Xactimate and XactContents experience.
• Rope and harness safety training or willingness to complete it.
