Safety Manager

What you will do

• Lead safety operations and build a behavioral safety culture for school bus transportation personnel.
• Design and oversee initial, recurrent, in-service, driver, first aid, special education, and road evaluation training.
• Monitor safety KPIs, Netradyne alerts, vehicle camera systems, driver files, and training compliance.
• Manage Field Supervisors, Driver Trainers, Master Trainers, and certified driver-trainers.
• Lead personnel injury and vehicle accident response, investigations, root cause analysis, and incident reporting.
• Coordinate with insurers, claims administrators, workers’ compensation providers, customers, and recruiting teams.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of professional safety management experience in transportation, preferably in school bus or passenger transportation.
• In-depth knowledge of FMCSA regulations, state pupil transportation laws, OSHA standards, and DOT requirements.
• Experience supervising and training a driver workforce.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presenting complex data and findings.
• Ability to manage regulatory records, training documentation, driver files, and incident reports.

Nice to have

• Commercial Driver’s License with Passenger and School Bus Endorsements.
• Certified Safety Professional, Certified Director of Pupil Transportation, or another relevant safety certification.
• SBDI certification.
• Experience with vehicle camera and monitoring systems.
