TL;DR
Safety Manager (Construction) (OSHA/MSHA/EPA): Leading construction safety and health programs across assigned projects or facilities with an accent on regulatory compliance, incident prevention, and safety staff development. Location: Westerville, Ohio; position associated with Millersport, Ohio and assigned construction project or facility locations

What you will do

  • Lead and monitor the company Safety and Health Program and behavioral-based Safety 24/7 program at assigned locations.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop safety staff while integrating safety practices into daily construction operations.
  • Coordinate audits, inspections, safety conversations, corrective actions, and preventative actions.
  • Lead injury, illness, and liability incident investigations and develop strategies to prevent recurrence.
  • Analyze safety, inspection, training, and incident data to identify trends and improve safety processes.
  • Coordinate safety meetings, training, subcontractor and vendor programs, and communication with clients and regulatory authorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in safety and health or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience.
  • 8+ years of safety and health experience in the construction industry preferred.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, MSHA, DOT, EPA, and other applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Ability to manage multiple project or facility locations, coach safety staff, influence operations managers, and lead corrective actions.
  • Strong communication, organization, documentation, computer, data analysis, root cause analysis, and risk mitigation skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record required; ability to work 50+ hours per week, including nights and weekends, and respond under pressure.

Nice to have

  • CPR/First Aid certification.
  • OSHA 30-Hour and 10-Hour Trainer certification.
  • GSP, ASP, CSP, or CHST designation.
