Payroll Specialist

Location: Hybrid; employees are required to work from the office two days per week

Salary: 83,000–104,000 RON gross annually, plus equity and benefits

What you will do

• Process accurate monthly and semi-monthly payroll across multiple regions and currencies.
• Collect, verify, and maintain payroll data, including employee changes, leave, compensation, benefits, joiners, and leavers.
• Coordinate with HR, Finance, and outsourced payroll providers to meet payroll deadlines and resolve discrepancies.
• Handle employee payroll queries through email, Jira, and Slack while meeting agreed service levels.
• Perform reconciliations, reporting, validation checks, audits, and payroll payment preparation.
• Support payroll integrations, global payroll projects, process automation, internal controls, and data protection compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Accounting, Human Resources, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field.
• 1–2 years of relevant payroll operations experience.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills and experience with case ticketing systems, preferably Jira.
• Experience working in multinational or rapidly growing environments.
• Experience administering payroll across multiple regions and currencies.
• Strong accuracy, organization, communication, confidentiality, and prioritization skills.

Nice to have

• Payroll Technician Certificate, CIPP qualification, or another payroll-focused certification.
• End-to-end in-house or outsourced payroll experience.
• Payroll, labor law, or compliance experience in EMEA, Singapore, or the USA.
• Experience with HRIS platforms and integrations, such as HiBob or Bob Payroll.
• Experience using AI tools such as Claude or Gemini for automation and process improvement.
