Patient Access Specialist - PRN (Healthcare Revenue Cycle)

Location: Onsite at Ardent - UT Health Tyler in Tyler, Texas; candidates must reside in and be authorized to work in the United States.

Salary: $17.00–$18.15 per hour, based on experience.

What you will do

• Perform admitting and pre-registration activities for hospital patients.
• Assign accurate medical record numbers, collect demographic and insurance information, and process physician orders.
• Verify eligibility, select insurance plan codes, enter benefit data, and support point-of-service collections and clean claims.
• Explain consent, Medicare, Tricare, observation, and other patient forms; obtain required signatures and distribute educational materials.
• Conduct medical necessity screening, including Advanced Beneficiary Notice processing, and document required forms.
• Operate the telephone switchboard, audit accounts, correct discrepancies, and provide patient-focused customer service.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of customer service experience.
• Ability to work onsite at the Tyler, Texas hospital location.
• Must reside in and be authorized to work within the United States.
• Must complete the company-paid CRCR certification within 6 months of hire.
