Outpatient Audit Specialist PRN - Remote (Healthcare Coding)

What you will do

• Perform outpatient facility coding audits of medical records and abstracts.
• Use ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, modifiers, and coding references to assign accurate codes.
• Provide concise, well-supported rationales for audit findings, including documentation references.
• Monitor regulatory changes and educate coders through the auditing process.
• Prioritize multiple cases and support timely workflow and case resolution.
• Address customer consulting, education, compliance assessment, and coding workflow review needs.

Requirements

• 5+ years of outpatient facility coding and/or auditing experience.
• CCS, RHIA, or RHIT certification required.
• Maintained coding accuracy rate of 95%.
• Experience with Epic, Cerner, and other common electronic medical record systems.
• Strong organizational, teamwork, leadership, customer-service, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to follow the AHIMA Code of Ethics and work with a high level of professionalism.
