Claim Specialist - Property Field Inspection

Location: Longview, Texas, serving the listed local ZIP codes. Remote-field work from home with a mobile office/vehicle and recurring in-person property inspections; occasional travel outside the assigned area may be required.

Salary: $63,089.65–$90,000 annually, plus potential incentive pay of up to 15% of base salary.

What you will do

• Conduct on-site inspections and assess damage for residential, commercial, and large-loss property claims.
• Investigate and adjust claims with exposures up to $500,000.
• Meet with policyholders, explain coverage, gather evidence, and document findings in detailed reports.
• Evaluate policy terms and claim validity while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
• Negotiate and settle claims within authorized limits.
• Collaborate with policyholders, agents, and other parties while handling difficult or emotional conversations professionally.

Requirements

• Strong investigation, analytical, organizational, decision-making, and communication skills.
• Ability to interpret detailed policies, guidelines, and technical information and apply them accurately.
• Proficiency with mobile and desktop tools for documenting claims in the field and remotely.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to walk, bend, kneel, squat, climb ladders, carry equipment, traverse roofs, and access tight spaces during inspections.
• Successful completion of required training, licensing exams, motor vehicle record checks, background checks, and any required pre-employment assessments.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree in risk management, insurance, business, construction management, or a related field.
• Customer service experience and knowledge of property insurance and claim handling.
• Knowledge of residential and commercial construction, building materials, water mitigation, and inspection processes.
• Working knowledge of Xactimate and XactContents.
• Rope and harness safety training or willingness to complete it.
