Property Claims Adjuster II (Insurance)

Location: Utah, covering Bountiful, north of Salt Lake City, and surrounding areas. Work from home with day travel to policy locations an average of 3–4 days per week; occasional overnight travel and catastrophe assignments may be required. Relocation assistance may be available for qualified candidates living more than 50 miles outside the territory.

Salary: $62,500–$93,500 expected starting range; $62,500–$115,500 national range per year.

What you will do

• Investigate and resolve moderate to severe property damage claims by phone and through face-to-face interactions.
• Determine policy coverage, apply claims practices, and make decisions within delegated authority.
• Open, close, and adjust reserves while maintaining accurate claim files and reports.
• Conduct onsite and virtual property inspections, prepare estimates, and evaluate repair requirements and costs.
• Coordinate with Special Investigations, Subrogation, policyholders, repair professionals, attorneys, agents, and claims management.
• Identify fraud and subrogation opportunities and prepare files for litigation, trials, or recovery actions.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of property claims handling or adjusting experience.
• Strong Xactimate experience; obtain Xactimate Level 1 certification within one year and Level 2 within two years.
• Experience writing estimates and managing claims from initial report through resolution.
• Construction experience in residential work, roofing, remodeling, or water mitigation.
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record and ability to travel regularly.
• Ability to safely climb ladders and inspect first- and second-story rooftops, including roofs with pitches up to 8/12, in all weather conditions.
