Senior Functional Analyst

Location: 100% remote within the United States; candidates from California, Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, and Washington will not be considered

Salary: $78,167–$103,855 per year

What you will do

• Lead the capture, analysis, documentation, validation, and change control of business, functional, technical, and non-technical requirements.
• Manage epics, sub-epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, backlogs, requirements, tests, defects, risks, and impediments in JIRA.
• Conduct user interviews, facilitate requirements and backlog refinement sessions, and develop process models and formal project specifications.
• Coordinate with customers, product and business owners, systems engineers, developers, stakeholders, and contractors.
• Track Agile product execution metrics and support Scrum and SAFe delivery throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Act as a functional subject matter expert and lead or mentor junior analysts.

Requirements

• 10 years of professional experience; a master's degree in engineering or a related scientific or technical discipline is required, with additional experience potentially substituting for education.
• Strong software development background and experience with Agile and Scaled Agile Framework methodologies.
• Expertise with JIRA and advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Excel.
• Excellent analytical, research, communication, problem-solving, customer service, and documentation skills.
• Experience with large Agile software development or data integration projects.
• U.S. citizenship is required, and the candidate must possess or qualify for a Public Trust (MBI) security clearance.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of the VA Veterans Independence Program, VA SQA testing, healthcare billing, or claims-processing applications.
• Experience with a federal health agency such as VA, DHA, or HHS.
• Certified Scrum Master or Professional Scrum Master certification.
