Electric Distribution Design Specialist

Starting rate of pay: $53.17 per hour

hirify.global operates and maintains an electric distribution system serving residential and commercial/industrial customers.

What you will do

• Design and write work orders for new services, relocations, upgrades, and additions to the electric distribution system.
• Consult with customers, contractors, municipalities, state officials, and utility representatives to assess project requirements.
• Prepare site documentation, estimates, easements, layout plans, pole location plans, and GIS update materials.
• Coordinate project information, scheduling, need dates, and complex assignments with internal departments and project coordinators.
• Resolve customer and project issues while supporting customer satisfaction and department goals.
• Participate in storm and emergency restoration assignments, including work outside normal responsibilities, hours, or location when required.

Requirements

• Associate degree in engineering, engineering technology, industrial electricity, or a similar program.
• Successful completion of Electric Distribution Designer 1 on-the-job training, normally 12 months, or equivalent related experience.
• Knowledge of electrical distribution systems, construction standards, circuit maps, site plans, and highway construction drawings.
• Knowledge of the National Electric Code, National Electric Safety Code, joint-use agreements, and relevant utility processes.
• Must successfully pass the EEI Tech Test and hold a valid motor vehicle operator’s license.
