What you will do
- Serve as the Electrical System Owner and site subject matter expert for electrical power systems at Marshall Steam Station.
- Provide direct technical support to plant operations and maintenance through troubleshooting, problem solving, and engineering recommendations.
- Monitor and trend system and component performance, maintain the plant risk grid, and improve equipment reliability using fleet operating experience and industry learnings.
- Direct onsite testing and troubleshooting for emergent electrical and relay system issues.
- Evaluate preventive maintenance program performance and recommend performance-based adjustments while maintaining regulatory compliance.
- Develop project scopes, technical bases, installation requirements, and testing requirements for engineering design changes involving AC/DC systems, motors, transformers, switchgear, motor control centers, voltage regulators, and breakers.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program, or a master's degree in engineering in lieu of the bachelor's degree.
- Engineer III: minimum 4 years of related engineering experience.
- Senior Engineer: minimum 6 years of related engineering experience, or 5 years with state registration as a Professional Engineer.
- Experience troubleshooting electrical distribution, protective relay, and control system issues.
- Understanding of NERC regulatory compliance requirements for battery and protection systems.
- Must be able to work lawfully in the United States without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future.
Nice to have
- Experience in the utility industry or relevant department-specific experience.
- Experience using Power Plan to build and process projects.
- Experience using Maximo to create equipment repair work orders and process purchase requisitions.
- Professional Engineer registration for the Senior Engineer level.
