Electrical Designer (Utility Scale Solar)

Location: Remote or Lakewood, Colorado. The role includes office work and some field work, with minimal travel of 0–10%. Applicants must be currently authorized to work full-time in the United States.

Salary: $32.00–$45.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Develop detailed electrical designs and drawings for utility-scale photovoltaic power systems.
• Create one-line and three-line diagrams, conduit and cable sizing and routing, grounding designs, equipment selections, wiring diagrams, trench sections, inverter layouts, and BESS equipment drawings.
• Prepare conceptual and high-level designs during project bidding with limited information or direction.
• Prepare civil and structural PV drawings, bases of design, bills of materials, studies, and other project documentation.
• Review the work of designers, drafters, and field service personnel for quality and accuracy.
• Contribute to CAD standards and lead quality ownership through the QA/QC process while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and clients.

Requirements

• Degree in engineering or a related field.
• 2–5+ years of engineering design or relevant experience.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
• Strong technical verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to read technical literature and engineering plans.
• Ability to communicate effectively with internal staff and external clients.
• Strong command of English and current authorization to work full-time in the United States.
