Senior Functional Analyst

Location: 100% remote within the United States; candidates from California, Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, and Washington will not be considered.

Salary: $78,167–$103,855 per year

What you will do

• Lead the capture, analysis, documentation, validation, and change control of business, functional, technical, and non-technical requirements.
• Manage epics, sub-epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, backlogs, requirements, tests, defects, risks, and traceability in JIRA and other ALM processes.
• Conduct user interviews, facilitate requirements and backlog refinement sessions, and develop business process models and formal project specifications.
• Coordinate with customers, product and business owners, systems engineers, developers, stakeholders, and contractors to assess solution impacts and clarify requirements.
• Track Agile product execution metrics, risks, issues, impediments, configuration items, and project status using Scrum and SAFe practices.
• Serve as a product functional SME, support Sprint teams, and lead and mentor junior analysts.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required; candidates must possess or qualify for a Public Trust (MBI) and pass the applicable government investigation.
• Ten years of professional experience; a master's degree in engineering or a related scientific or technical discipline is required, with experience substitution permitted as stated.
• Strong software development background and experience with Agile and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodologies.
• Expertise with JIRA tools and experience in large Agile software development or data integration projects.
• Advanced Microsoft Office and Excel skills, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Previous federal government experience and security clearance are highly desired.

Nice to have

• Experience with the VA Veterans Independence Program, VA SQA testing, or a federal health agency such as VA, DHA, or HHS.
• Certified Scrum Master or Professional Scrum Master certification.
• Healthcare billing and claims processing application knowledge.
