Senior Functional Analyst

Location: 100% remote within the United States; candidates from California, Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, or Washington will not be considered.

Salary: $78,167–$103,855 per year

What you will do

• Lead the capture, analysis, documentation, validation, and change control of business, functional, technical, and non-technical requirements.
• Collaborate with business users, product owners, IT teams, systems engineers, leadership, customers, and contractors.
• Use JIRA as an Application Lifecycle Management tool for requirements, epics, user stories, testing, defects, and traceability.
• Facilitate user interviews, backlog refinement, Agile requirements sessions, process modeling, and acceptance-criteria definition.
• Track risks, impediments, dependencies, project documentation, configuration items, delivery metrics, and product backlogs using Agile and SAFe practices.
• Serve as a functional subject matter expert, support sprint teams, remove impediments, and mentor junior analysts.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Must possess or qualify for a Public Trust (MBI) security clearance.
• Ten years of professional experience; a master’s degree in engineering or a related scientific or technical discipline is required, with additional experience potentially substituting for education.
• Strong experience with software development, Agile, and Scaled Agile Framework methodologies, including work on large Agile software development or data integration projects.
• Expertise with JIRA, advanced Microsoft Office and Excel skills, strong analytical abilities, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to conduct independent research, integrate information from multiple sources, communicate complex technical topics, and solve complex problems.

Nice to have

• Experience in an Agile environment and knowledge of the VA Veterans Independence Program.
• VA SQA testing experience or experience with a federal health agency such as VA, DHA, or HHS.
• Certified Scrum Master or Professional Scrum Master certification.
• Healthcare billing and claims processing application knowledge.
