Senior Functional Analyst

Location: 100% remote within the United States; candidates from California, Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, and Washington will not be considered

Salary: $78,167–$103,855 per year

What you will do

• Lead the capture, analysis, documentation, validation, and change control of business, functional, technical, and non-technical requirements.
• Manage epics, sub-epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, backlogs, requirements, tests, defects, and traceability in JIRA and other ALM processes.
• Conduct user interviews, facilitate requirements and backlog refinement sessions, and develop business process models and formal specifications.
• Coordinate with product owners, business stakeholders, systems engineers, customers, contractors, and development teams.
• Track risks, issues, impediments, project artifacts, execution metrics, and product or program status across the Agile lifecycle using SAFe.
• Serve as a product functional SME, mentor junior analysts, and support Sprint teams in understanding and delivering requirements.

Requirements

• 10 years of professional experience and a master’s degree in engineering or a related scientific or technical discipline; additional experience may substitute for education.
• Strong software development background and experience with Agile and Scaled Agile Framework methodologies.
• Expertise with JIRA and advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, customer service, oral, and written communication skills.
• Experience with large Agile software development or data integration projects and independent research on complex questions.
• U.S. citizenship is required; candidates must possess or qualify for a Public Trust (MBI) security clearance.

Nice to have

• Veterans Affairs experience, including the Veterans Independence Program, VA SQA testing, or work with a federal health agency.
• Certified Scrum Master or Professional Scrum Master certification.
• Healthcare billing and claims processing application knowledge.
