Senior Functional Analyst

Location: 100% remote within the United States; candidates from California, Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, and Washington will not be considered.

Salary: $78,167–$103,855 annually

What you will do

• Lead the capture, analysis, documentation, validation, and change control of business, functional, technical, and non-technical requirements.
• Manage epics, sub-epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, requirements, tests, defects, and traceability in JIRA and other ALM processes.
• Conduct user interviews, backlog refinement sessions, requirements workshops, and business process modeling activities.
• Coordinate with product owners, business users, systems engineers, developers, stakeholders, and contractors to assess solution impacts and clarify requirements.
• Track project risks, issues, dependencies, backlogs, execution metrics, and product status across the Agile and SAFe lifecycle.
• Mentor junior analysts, support Sprint teams, remove impediments, and deliver project documentation to the client.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required for this opportunity.
• Must possess or qualify for a Public Trust (MBI) security clearance and pass the required government background investigation.
• Ten years of professional experience; a master’s degree in engineering or a related scientific or technical discipline is required, with additional experience potentially substituting for education.
• Strong background in software development, Agile, SAFe, Scrum, large software development or data integration projects, and requirements management.
• Expertise with JIRA and advanced experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
• Excellent communication, analytical, research, problem-solving, customer service, and attention-to-detail skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with the Veterans Independence Program, VA SQA testing, or a federal health agency such as VA, DHA, or HHS.
• Certified Scrum Master or Professional Scrum Master certification.
• Knowledge of healthcare billing, claims processing applications, and Veterans Affairs programs.
• Previous federal government experience and security clearance.
