Senior Data Scientist (Subscriptions)

Location: New York City office with a hybrid schedule

Salary: $145,000–$180,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Build retention and engagement models to identify at-risk subscribers, understand causes, and evaluate effective interventions.
• Develop lifetime value models and integrate them into acquisition and marketing spending decisions.
• Extend recommendation systems to new surfaces and form factors and manage the iteration cycle.
• Design and analyze experiments that determine which product and marketing experiences reach production.
• Own data science problems end to end, from problem framing and dataset construction through modeling, deployment, and measurement.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience using data science to change business decisions and explaining the associated tradeoffs.
• Fluency in Python and SQL in the context of data science, machine learning, and analytics.
• Experience with rigorous experiment design, including identifying worthwhile experiments, defining test details, and drawing conclusions and next steps.
• Ability to take ownership of problems across their full lifecycle and proactively seek support when needed.
• Ability to work from the New York City office on a hybrid schedule.

Nice to have

• Experience with recurring-revenue or subscription businesses, including survival analysis, uplift modeling, multi-touch attribution, or engagement segmentation.
• Exposure to recommender systems or personalization in production.
• Familiarity with BigQuery, dbt, Dagster, Python services on Google Cloud, or Looker.
