Technician, Facility Services, HVAC-Refrigeration (HVAC/R)

Location: Onsite at 3209 Deans Bridge Rd, Augusta, Georgia 30906, United States. The role includes travel to multiple facilities and distant locations within an assigned region, driving a company vehicle, and participating in an on-call rotation.

Salary: $29.00–$58.00 per hour, plus possible premiums of $0.35–$3.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Install, configure, calibrate, maintain, and repair commercial HVAC, refrigeration, rack, walk-in, reach-in, and supermarket refrigeration systems.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, controls, pneumatic, and refrigerant-related issues using layouts, schematics, and testing equipment.
• Operate preventive maintenance programs, energy management systems, and compliance procedures to reduce downtime and protect equipment.
• Handle and reclaim refrigerants, document refrigerant usage, and perform work according to OSHA, EPA 608, and applicable HVAC/R regulations.
• Manage service calls, work orders, parts inventory, warranty claims, vendor coordination, and escalated technical issues.
• Lead field teams, mentor technicians and apprentices, coordinate with managers and customers, and support training and operational procedures.

Requirements

• Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification plus two years of commercial HVAC/R and building-controls experience, or four years of relevant mechanical maintenance or construction experience.
• EPA Type I and Type II or Universal certification for refrigerant handling is required.
• HVAC/R or mechanical journeyman qualification where required.
• Valid state-issued driver's license and a qualifying commercial driving record are required.
• Ability to work onsite, travel between facilities, use heavy machinery, participate in on-call coverage, and follow OSHA, EPA, federal, state, and local requirements.

Nice to have

• Completion of a two-year vocational or technical HVAC/R program.
• Mechanical license in the city or state where the job is located.
• Experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and office software.
