Assurance Engineer

Location: Holborn, London, United Kingdom; the role includes site inspections, audits, installation, commissioning, and infrastructure delivery activities across the UK.

What you will do

• Review engineering designs, technical submissions, and proposed solutions for compliance with technical, regulatory, operational, and industry standards.
• Provide engineering assurance across CAPEX projects spanning TfL, large-format advertising, Network Rail, roadside, BT, and airport environments.
• Track assurance activities, risks, gaps, non-conformances, technical approvals, and design changes across multiple projects.
• Conduct site inspections, audits, assurance checks, and practical engineering reviews during installation and commissioning.
• Verify contractor documentation, risk assessments, method statements, handover records, and Health & Safety files.
• Work with project managers, contractors, suppliers, designers, partnerships, and operational teams to improve quality, compliance, and delivery.

Requirements

• Proven experience in engineering assurance, technical review, compliance, or quality oversight within project delivery.
• Practical knowledge of engineering management, design assurance, construction delivery, inspections, audits, and technical governance.
• Experience assessing projects against British Standards and relevant rail, highway, roadside, or airport standards.
• Experience overseeing contractors and suppliers, identifying technical risks and non-conformances, and supporting corrective actions.
• Experience with large-scale CAPEX projects, rollout programmes, or multi-site infrastructure delivery.
• Construction-related qualification or a degree in civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, or an associated engineering subject.

Nice to have

• Understanding of CDM Regulations 2015.
• SMSTS, IOSH, or NEBOSH qualification.
• Experience with NEC contracts or similar delivery frameworks.
• Professional accreditation or further engineering or construction qualifications in progress.
