Inspection Engineer (Pressure Equipment)

Location: UK field based, with travel to customer sites. The role is based at the Immingham, United Kingdom site and follows Monday–Friday, 8:00–16:30 working hours.

What you will do

• Inspect pressure vessels, piping systems, containment systems, safety accessories, and related pressure equipment.
• Assess and report inspection findings in accordance with hirify.global procedures, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
• Apply PED, PESR, ADR, TPED, and TPER requirements during statutory inspections.
• Manage field inspection activities, risk assessments, safe systems of work, and health and safety compliance.
• Provide technical guidance to colleagues and customers on pressure equipment compliance.
• Support efficient service delivery and customer satisfaction across industrial client sites.

Requirements

• Experience inspecting pressure equipment in engineering, manufacturing, process, petrochemical, inspection, or industrial environments.
• Engineering Technician qualification, ONC with relevant experience, or a recognised engineering apprenticeship in a relevant discipline.
• Strong knowledge of PED 2014/68/EU and UK pressure equipment safety regulations, including PESR/PSSR.
• Knowledge of dangerous goods carriage regulations or a related industrial sector.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to customer sites.
• Understanding of health and safety legislation, safe systems of work, technical reporting, and independent professional judgement.

Nice to have

• HNC or HND in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Membership of a professional engineering institution with evidence of CPD.
• Knowledge of SAFed technical guidance and experience in accredited inspection environments.
• Additional qualifications such as LEEA, CCSNG Passport to Safety, IOSH Working Safely, IPAF, Confined Space, Working at Height, or Wire Rope Examiner certification.
