2nd Shift Entry Level Machinist

Location: Onsite in Blacksburg, Virginia, United States

Salary: $18.50–$20.00 per hour

What you will do

• Perform basic drill press, lathe, milling machine, and grinding operations.
• Apply and care for turning, plunge, and form tools.
• Operate manual and powered tapping machines and work with metric and standard taps and dies.
• Use power hand tools, grinders, drills, sanders, sandblasters, and bead blasters.
• Operate power band saws and cutoff saws, including selecting speeds, feeds, tooth sizes, guides, and blades.
• Complete required paperwork and perform other assigned duties.

Requirements

• At least one year completed in an approved Machine Technology vocational program or equivalent.
• Knowledge of machine shop gauges and machines.
• Proficiency in general mathematics.
• Ability to understand and apply verbal, written, and computer-based work instructions or training in English.
• High school diploma or GED preferred; ATDM graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Ability to work onsite in Blacksburg, Virginia, on the second shift.
