Staff Sales Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Remote within the United States; willingness to travel up to 30% of the time.

Salary: USA Pacific OTE: $222,750–$303,750 annually; USA Sapphire OTE: $197,100–$278,100 annually

What you will do

• Lead technical discovery and support pre-sales activities for enterprise and key merchants.
• Architect scalable, reliable solutions for complex integrations, customizations, checkout processes, and payment systems.
• Develop and communicate technical narratives, demos, documentation, and solution strategies for merchant opportunities.
• Partner with Sales, Engineering, Product, partner engineering, and Sales Operations teams to drive successful implementations and scalable engagement models.
• Build trusted relationships with technical stakeholders and provide actionable customer insights to influence product development.
• Create reusable best practices, assets, training materials, and internal processes that improve go-to-market efficiency.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in Sales Engineering, Solution Architecture, Partner Engineering, Solutions Engineering, technical sales, or pre-sales roles.
• 3+ years of current experience in payments, fintech, or a closely related industry.
• Strong technical expertise in API integrations, SaaS platforms, enterprise architectures, checkout processes, and payment systems.
• Experience architecting and positioning solutions for e-commerce platforms, payment gateways, in-store point-of-sale systems, and related checkout environments.
• Ability to write scripts in at least one programming language and communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• BA/BS degree in business or technology, or equivalent technical account management experience; willingness to travel up to 30%.
