Optician, Dual-Licensed – Sam’s Club (OH & SC only)

Location: On-site at 2675 Taylor Road Ext, Reynoldsburg, OH 43068-9543, United States. The role is limited to Sam’s Club locations in Ohio and South Carolina.

Salary: $31.00–$39.00 USD per hour, with possible premiums of $0.35–$3.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Provide member service, support eyewear purchasing decisions, process optical orders, and handle payments, returns, and refunds.
• Measure pupillary distance and position of wear, adjust and repair frames, verify prescriptions, and complete final eyewear inspections.
• Educate members on eyewear care and contact lens hygiene, and support contact lens insertion and removal.
• Coordinate with optical laboratories and optometrists, troubleshoot non-adapt issues and equipment failures, and maintain optical inventory and equipment.
• Schedule appointments, perform pre-testing, record results, collect payments, and support optometrist and telehealth services where applicable.
• Train and supervise optical associates, maintain licensure and certifications, and help implement compliant processes and service improvements.

Requirements

• Active state optician licensure and Optician in Charge status as required by state regulations.
• Active ABO and/or NCLE certification and an NPI number where required.
• Eligibility and willingness to sponsor Apprentice Optical Technicians under applicable state regulations.
• High school diploma or equivalent, unless advanced education is required by state regulations.
• Knowledge of optical services, eyewear, contact lenses, optical equipment, and applicable compliance procedures.
• Experience with insurance processing and electronic health records is preferred.

Nice to have

• Associate’s degree in opticianry, healthcare, or a related field.
• Three years of optical service experience or four years of healthcare, optical services, or retail operations experience.
