Developmental Technician, Facility Services HVAC/R (HVAC/R)

Location: Irvine, California, United States; onsite work at a Walmart Supercenter

Salary: $31.00–$61.00 per hour, with possible additional premiums of $0.35–$3.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Maintain and repair facilities, equipment, fixtures, and store assets under the direct supervision of an experienced technician.
• Perform supervised HVAC/R, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material-handling equipment, and food-equipment work.
• Use the work order management system to receive repair requests and document completed activities.
• Inspect, operate, and test equipment and fixtures to diagnose issues.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls.
• Complete required safety training and use hand tools, power tools, and other equipment correctly.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old and able to work onsite in Irvine, California.
• High school diploma or equivalent; ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders frequently, work at heights, remain seated or standing for extended periods, and work in varying temperatures.
• Universal or Type I and Type II EPA refrigerant-handling certification; EPA 608 Certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Valid state-issued driver's license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report, including specified commercial driving-record requirements.
• Either one year of experience in plumbing, electrical, material-handling equipment, or a related area, or two years of Walmart store experience.
• Preferred experience includes commercial HVAC/R and building controls, mechanical maintenance, construction, blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and testing equipment.
