Developmental Technician, Facility Services HVAC/R (HVAC/R)

Location: Du Quoin, Illinois, United States. Onsite facility maintenance role at a Walmart store.

Hourly wage: $26.00–$51.00, with possible premiums of $0.35–$3.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Maintain and repair facilities, equipment, fixtures, and other store assets under the direct supervision of an experienced technician.
• Use multiple craft skills, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, and food equipment maintenance.
• Receive reactive repair work orders, respond to store and associate requests, and document completed work in the work order management system.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls and inspect, operate, or test equipment to diagnose issues.
• Complete required training and operate hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and other equipment safely.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old and able to work onsite in Du Quoin, Illinois.
• High school diploma or equivalent; ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders frequently, work at heights, remain seated or standing for extended periods, and work in varying temperatures.
• Universal or Type I and Type II EPA refrigerant-handling certification, or EPA 608 certification within 90 days of hire.
• Valid state-issued driver's license, excellent driving record, and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
• Either one year of experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or a related area, or two years of Walmart store experience.
• Commercial driving record must meet Walmart requirements, including no recent DUI/DWI/OUI convictions, no more than two moving violations in the last three years, and no preventable commercial vehicle accidents in the last three years.

Nice to have

• Commercial HVAC/R, building controls, mechanical maintenance, or construction experience.
• Experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and office productivity software.
