Focus on planning repair work, inspecting completed repairs, maintaining complex vehicle systems, controlling inventory and budgets, and developing technician performance.

What you will do

  • Supervise technicians performing preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel and alternate-fuel trucks, containers, and heavy equipment.
  • Plan and schedule repair work, monitor shop performance, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Conduct shop huddles, inspections, quality-control checks, coaching, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Oversee complex diagnostics and repairs involving engines, emissions, transmissions, brakes, hydraulics, electrical systems, HVAC, and welding.
  • Manage inventory, parts purchases, expenses, maintenance records, payroll-related administration, and departmental budgets.
  • Ensure repairs comply with company safety standards and federal and state regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • ASE certification, including T3 Drive, T4 Brake, T5 Suspension and Steering, T6 Electrical/Electronic, T7 HVAC Systems, ASE T2 Diesel Engine, and ASE T Master Certified.
  • At least 3 years of heavy-equipment maintenance experience.
  • At least 1 year of supervisory or lead-technician experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of safe working practices, DOT, OSHA, and other federal and state regulations.
  • Ability to work at the Fort Wayne, Indiana location.
