Senior Manager, User Experience (UX) Design

Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota. Employees work in the office at least four days per week, with flexibility to work from home one day per week. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.

Base salary: $131,000–$180,100 per year, plus potential variable compensation and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead UX design for web and mobile experiences serving advisors, clients, and prospects.
• Create wireframes, mock-ups, design documentation, Agile stories, test plans, and acceptance criteria.
• Present design concepts and research-based recommendations to product teams, business leaders, and technology stakeholders.
• Conduct competitive reviews, heuristic reviews, surveys, click studies, card sorting, and usability testing.
• Lead design concepting and user experience strategy during project planning.
• Build a high-performing design team through hiring, coaching, workload management, knowledge sharing, and performance management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent four-year experience.
• 7+ years of professional experience.
• Proficiency in human-centered design, information architecture, interaction design, visual design, web best practices, design thinking, systems thinking, and Agile methodology.
• Experience with industry-standard design tools such as Figma, Sketch, InVision, or Adobe Creative Suite.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain design concepts and rationale.
• Working knowledge of color theory, composition, branding, typography, and web design standards.

Nice to have

• Professional UX portfolio for digital products or services.
• Experience with design sprints, co-creation, behavioral design, service design, and research.
• Experience designing transactional, complex, or enterprise application ecosystems.
• Knowledge of HTML/CSS, QA environments, data visualization tools, and ADA/WCAG accessibility standards.
• Experience with both waterfall and Agile processes, prototyping, and mock-up development.
