Design Engineer Co-op (Aerospace)

Location: Spartanburg, South Carolina, United States; full-time, onsite work in the engineering laboratory and production environment.

What you will do

• Create and modify product designs using SolidWorks.
• Support new product development and product improvement through testing, analysis, and documentation.
• Conduct laboratory testing and evaluate product performance, ergonomics, manufacturability, and safety.
• Participate in Value Analysis/Value Engineering initiatives focused on product value and manufacturing cost reduction.
• Develop manufacturing, assembly, engineering, and new product introduction documentation.
• Analyze trends, troubleshoot manufacturing issues, and support corrective actions with engineering and operations teams.

Requirements

• Currently at sophomore standing or higher in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related scientific discipline at an accredited four-year college or university.
• Experience with CAD software; SolidWorks is preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, attention-to-detail, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to work a full-time internship schedule of 40 hours per week throughout the internship period and work on the production floor when required.
